Most women suffer from thrush at a certain point in their lives. But home remedies for vaginal thrush can help in easy and moderate cases.

Vaginal thrush is caused by a fungus that lives naturally in the vagina called Candida Albicans.
Symptoms are itching, burning sensation, swallowing around the vagina, and watery or cheesy white discharge.
Any woman can get vaginal thrush. But women may be at an increased risk if she has uncontrolled diabetes, has had a recent course of antibiotics, or has high estrogen level as a pregnant woman.

Home remedies for vaginal thrush
1- Greek yogurt
A common cause of vaginal thrush is the imbalance between Candida Albicans and certain bacteria called lactobacillus.
Yogurt contains alive lactobacillus that fights yeast to return the natural balance.
It produces hydrogen peroxide which kills yeast.
So eating unsweetened yogurt or apply it around the vagina are very simple and effective home remedies for vaginal thrush.
Some women find relief in soaking a tampon in yogurt and inserting it vaginally, remembering to change it frequently.
Avoid flavored and sweetened yogurt since yeast use sugar as a nutrient.
2- Tea tree oil
Tea tree essential oil is considered a powerful antiseptic and anti-fungal for years.
A vaginal suppository containing tea tree oil may help treat vaginal thrush.
To use tea tree oil topically, diluted it with a carrier such as coconut oil.
-Tea tree oil may be allergic to some people, so apply it to a small area of your body and if there is no reaction in 12 or 24 hours, you can use it.
-Never use tea tree oil orally.
-Tea tree oil should never be used in undiluted form as it may cause burns.
Curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory, and antifungal is found in a large amount in turmeric.
Studies show that turmeric can suppress the overgrowth of C.Albicans and protect against vaginal thrush.
So adding turmeric to your diet in a large amount is one of the easiest home remedies for vaginal thrush.
Coconut oil is a fatty oil derived from the soft inner parts of the coconut fruit.
A 2007 lab study found that coconut oil helped kill many species of yeast, but C.Albicans, which causes vaginal thrush is the most susceptible to coconut oil.
The oil is thought to have antibacterial and antifungal properties, which make it one of the few most effective home remedies for vaginal thrush.
Also, you can use coconut oil as a carrier for other oils such as oregano oil and tea tree oil.
Researchers found that coconut oil has no adverse effects or recurrence reported.
Be sure to use organic, pure coconut oil, you can know the original ones by their smell as pure coconut oil doesn't have a strong coconut smell.
You can apply coconut oil straight from the jar to your vagina.
Some women suggest applying coconut oil to a clean tampon and then inserting the tampon, be sure to change the tampon frequently.
When you chop or crush garlic, a high amount of allicin is formed which can suppress the multiplication of bacteria and fungi.
Studies suggest that allicin can inhibit candida overgrowth and reduce its ability to attach to the cells.
For maximum effectiveness, eat row garlic since allicin is damaged by heating.
Some women recommend inserting garlic in the vagina, but it may cause burns and irritation of the skin.
6-Apple Cider Vinegar
According to research ACV is a strong antimicrobial and antifungal agent.
ACV shows great promise in reducing blood glucose level, so it is the best home remedy for vaginal thrush if you have diabetes.
-Drink or add it to your diet.
-Dilute it with a carrier oil such as coconut oil and apply it to your skin.
-ACV has acidic properties which may cause burns, so never use it in concentrated form.
-Consult your doctor if you take medication for diabetes.
Boric acid is a white powder or crystalline solid that has incredibly powerful antifungal and antiviral properties.
According to studies, people should use boric acid as a secondary treatment, that is, if other antifungal drugs are unable to treat vaginal thrush.
The CDC recommends using a boric acid vaginal suppository which contains 600 mg of boric acid once daily for 2 weeks.
If symptoms persist after using boric acid, speak to a doctor or gynecologist.
8-Black seed oil
Black seed oil is extracted from black cumin seeds, it was thought that it is the number one of all home remedies for vaginal thrush when it comes to treating yeast infections naturally!
Studies show that black seed oil is very effective against skin and vaginal yeast infections, and it has proved to be effective against Candida Albicans strain, most notably.
Black seed oil is so unique due to its active compounds such as thymoquinone which is a strong antibacterial and antifungal agent.
You can use black seed oil internally and externally.
If you suffer from regular vaginal thrush, it's time to start adding black seed oil to your diet.
You can take between 1- 3 teaspoons of black seed oil but if you are a beginner, start with 1 teaspoon of black seed oil first thing in the morning followed by a glass of milk or juice.
Mix 1 teaspoon of black seed oil with honey.
Black seed oil is potent, so never take it on an empty stomach as it can cause a burning sensation.
You can mix black seed oil with the same amount of other oils such as olive oil and castor oil and apply it on the affected areas.
Or you can apply black seed oil on a clean tampon, then insert it in the vagina. Be sure to change the tampon frequently.
It is normal to have a small amount of yeast on the skin, mouth, and vagina. Under certain conditions -such as low immunity and hormone changes during pregnancy, the yeast may multiply and cause symptoms.
Tight and wet clothes may be the reasons for vaginal thrush.
If you are pregnant, never try any home remedies for vaginal thrush before consulting your doctor.
People with sensitive skin must apply a small amount of any oil in a small area of skin for 12 or 24 hours first before using it to be sure that it's not allergic.
Boric acid is considered the most effective one of all home remedies for vaginal thrush to treat recurring vaginal thrush.
