About Klorane

A brief history

Pierre Fabre, a young pharmacist whose goal and passion was the plants and what they do for us, founded an environment such as the klorane with its labs and botanists and pharmacists in 1965.

The klorane environment then becomes bigger with its plants and farms. Klorane leave in conditioner is from a reputable source and labs from France with recycled products and environment savers.

Being awarded ISO 14001, the value of klorane from the beginning was and still is to preserve and contribute to the environment.

It began with launching shampoos with chamomile then with cornflower then the dry and the first dry shampoo in 1971 then with shampoo with oat milk and many more.

Aiming for the safety of the environment, klorane was awarded in 2015 by UNESCO for its (great green wall project).

Klorane leave in conditioner is from many other products for the face, skin, scalp, and hair, all of them are environmentally friendly with reused products.

Klorane hair products

They produce many products for hair such as shampoo, solid and powder shampoos (to produce no waste for the environment), dry shampoo, conditioners such as the Klorane leave in conditioner, hair masks, and specialized hair care products.

Their products for the face such as cleansers for make-up removal, eye contour creams and face masks, and many other products for the body as the shower paths and the babies as the shower gel.

All their products are made inside their labs with farm plants and reused products, even Klorane leave in conditioner.

Their other activities

Besides their products, klorane has a magazine for talking about hair and face routines and many more.

They talked about dandruff, how to retain your hair strength, how to avoid hair loss, how to save your hair from pollution, and many others like stories of farmers and their passion for the environment.

They have on their website a newsletter to inform you about routines and how to develop your sight for your hair and face also, they have specialized diagnostic tools for your hair, face, or body condition.

Before going deep into the subject we will first highlight some concepts before going for the Klorane leave in conditioner, so, are you ready?

Klorane leave in conditioner

Important concepts

Hair structure

Hair is mainly composed of three layers (the medulla, cortex, and cuticle) and is composed of 17 keratin types. The cuticle is the outermost layer which represents the strength and the rigidity of the hair.

When the rigid part is lost (the cuticle), the cortex will be exposed and since it is a fragile content, the hair will be split which in this case will be called split ends.

Sebum

Being moisturized is the most integral function to retain the smoothness of the hair shaft, an oily secretion from a nearby gland (sebaceous gland) to the hair follicle called sebum is assigned to do that essential part.

Shampoo

Cleaner of the hair, its’ cleanability is done through surfactants which besides clearing the hair shaft and radiating the dirt away, leave the hair with a boring appearance.

Making it irritating and very dry hair, people were so messy about that and needed a beautifying function.

All of that is because of the surfactants’ ability to remove the sebum which we talked about in the previous paragraph.

Conditioner

The main function of the hair conditioner according to Zoe Diana Draelos in her book “Cosmetic and Dermatologic Problems and Solutions, Third Edition” is to retain the softness and the smoothness of the hair after sebum removal.

Conditioner from the word Condition gives the hair its condition and preserves it. Klorane leave in conditioner and any conditioner acts as a sebum.

They can be liquid, gels, or creams. The ability of the shampoo to clean results in leaving some electric charges in the hair leading to the electric field and the conditioner approves that by neutralizing that charge.

Resulting in more manageable hair, conditioners appear to be very important in hair fashion and the hair-reseuring routine.

Conditioners are of four main types which are Instant, leave in (Klorane leave in conditioner), deep, and rinse.

In brief words, the instant type helps in combing the wet, the leave-in helps in managing the hair after drying with a towel.

The deep is the one that works well for the damaged hair by the chemicals and is applied for minutes up to 30 minutes and The rinse type is the one that can detangle the hair fiber making it easy to comb.

There is more about leave in conditioner which we will talk about later on about klorane leave in conditioner.

Hair problems

From the previous paragraphs, we can conclude that the hair problems are mechanical and chemical which makes it difficult to comb. The split ends of the hair shaft, the cuticle that breaks, the damage caused by the sunlight, and the humidity.

Hair problems are common and can be overwhelming in society and that raises the importance of conditioners such as the Klorane leave in conditioner. Routines are needed to take care of your hair.

After highlighting those needed concepts, we are ready to search in a brief deep for the leave in conditioner.

Leave in conditioners

A brief view

The antifreeze ability of the leave in conditioner makes it the most important type of conditioner available in the market for the population. It can be used for all hair types and reduces the friction between the hair shafts.

It is composed of oily ingredients and others. Leave in conditioners composed of alcohol too, to help stabilize the conditioner and strengthen its emollient effect.

Being composed of proteins with acidic parts (amino acids), the hair shaft is damaged on high pH application which is why the conditioner has in its ingredients pH adjusters to be more acidic like benzoic and lactic acids.

All leave in conditioners contain oily parts that must be rinsed after the application except the Klorane leave in conditioner, it isn’t rinsed and it is styled through hair.

Those conditioners are light in weight which means that they don’t add weight to our hair, it is just a thin film that is very cool on application before going to any place and that is the function of the silicon ingredients in those conditioners.

Klorane leave in conditioner

In general, the Klorane leave in conditioner is supposed to preserve the cuticle, We talked about, making it more rigid.

1,2-Hexanediol, Benzoic Acid, Cetearyl Glucoside, Fragrance, Lactic Acid, Polyquaternium-37, Tocopherol, Yellow 5 (Ci 19140) and Yellow 6 (Ci 15985) are the full ingredients of the klorane leave in conditioner.

The function of its ingredients

Water is a solvent and humectant and is used to retain the moisture of the skin.

Cetearyl Alcohol is a moisture preserver for hair and skin and a stabilizer for the conditioner.

Ethylhexyl Palmitate is used as a skin emollient and a stabilizer for the conditioner.

Dicaprylyl Carbonate is the second moisture keeper of both hair and skin after the Cetearyl Alcohol and acts as a solvent for the ingredients.

Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine is the first antistatic agent.

Mango Seed Butter is the key ingredient of the conditioner which is a fatty substance used as a holder for moisturizing the hair shaft and that is the main goal of the klorane leave in conditioner.

- 1,2-Hexanediol is a preservative for the shelf life of the conditioner and acts as a skin softener.

- Benzoic Acid is a preservative and PH adjuster (to not damage the hair shaft with a high PH).

- Cetearyl Glucoside is a member of the conditioner stability ingredients and a skin smoother.

- The fragrance is for the smell of the conditioner.

- Lactic Acid is the second PH adjuster and acts as an exfoliating agent for the skin (which regenerates the skin layers to be more healthy).

- The ammonium salt Polyquaternium-37 is the second antistatic agent.

- Tocopherol or vitamin E is the nourishing part of the klorane leave in conditioner, it is the antioxidant agent which prevents the damage of the hair shaft by the free radicals keeping it rigid. It is a fat-soluble one which dissolves freely with the mango butter attaining with it the moisture-holding effect.

Yellow 5 and 6 are color providers to the conditioner.
